Saturday night (October 9th) Bastille rocked Rock um Rio. Competing with big names in national music such as Rust and Thiaguinho, the British won over audiences that came straight from other shows to the world stage. They opened the show by speaking in Portuguese to the song “Things Lost in Fire”. “Oi Brasil, how are you? Sorry my Portuguese sucks,” said vocalist Dam Smith.

For about an hour and a half of the performance, no one stood still. The presentation was marked by the group’s great affection for the Brazilian public.

Before the performance, the band revealed that they were learning Portuguese words in order to perform in front of an audience. They wrote the English sound of the Portuguese words.

He apologized for the depressing lyrics and advised Brazilians to enjoy the upbeat beat.

The stage was filled with the therapy department, which is in line with the concept of mental health and technology that they were working on in the show.

The highlight of the show was the hit “Happier”. The vocalist came down to greet the audience and even danced with the Brazilian flag. The audience had sharp tongues and sang every line of the song.

The rain began to drip to the song “Flaw”, which is one of the saddest and most emotional in the group. The vocalist introduced the song very emotionally while sitting on the floor.

The band also covered “This is The Rhythm of the Night” which impressed the audience.

Bastille saved the best for last and performed her first hit “Pompei” as the last song of the show. The rain did not interfere at all and added to the emotional atmosphere of the show.

They kicked off the hit with an acoustic version and soon blew the music away, lifting the mood of the audience.
