Benfica President Rui Costa is ambitious in a message that accompanies the club’s 2022/2023 budget, which sees increased investment in modalities and an increase in the positive result from 380,000 euros to 604,000 euros, and which will be voted on at the general meeting on 8 June.
“Benfica will maintain its ambitions for the sporting goals of our various modalities (…) The increased investment reflected in this budget is a fundamental premise of the current commitment to make the kits even more competitive and winning (…) it covers only five male pavilion kits, and also applies to women’s teams, whose achievements we are proud of – both in pavilions and in the stadium (…) Despite the external situation, we therefore have reason to be optimistic,” he said. insists.
Rui Costa also highlights as one of his priorities “the expansion of the network of football schools, with a focus on international level”, even taking advantage of the victory in the UEFA Youth League, which, in his opinion, strengthens the international recognition of the work carried out at the training level on the Benfica campus and highlights the “increasingly relevant” role of the Benfica Foundation.
And he ends abruptly: “In short, we want to win more and more. This is the essence of Benfica. This budget reveals these ambitions, supported by responsible and rigorous leadership.”
