André Villas-Boas does not hide that he is happy to keep Sergio Conceição in Porto’s technical team.

“Of course yes. Very happy and glad that it is. Sergio is a great worker of these last titles, obviously with structure and players. He is a coach with a very unique style that fuels the portism that we have and that he is very present, which makes him a unique leader, so I am very happy that this continues,” the coach told Sport TV on the sidelines of the solidarity action organized by Miguel Oliveira in Almada.

Also about Porto, the club he coached with great success in the 2010/2011 season, Villas-Boas once again faced the desire to be Pinto da Costa’s successor. “We’ll see, everything has its time. I have never hidden this aspiration, so I don’t need to renew it,” he said.

And given that he hasn’t trained since February 2021 when he left Marseille, Villas-Boas was also asked when he would return to the bench: “I can’t speak. This break served as preparation for other projects, as well as family bonding. Recently I was offered to stay with the team for the World Cup, but I preferred to focus on the future and family.”

There are also rumors of Darwin’s recent move to Liverpool for €75m, which could be in the triple digits depending on the targets. “The purchasing power of English clubs is growing and they manage to buy and steal the best talent in Portugal. This is also required by the finances of the Portuguese clubs. But the dominance of English clubs is not limited to Portuguese clubs. The biggest problem will be when English clubs foresee purchases from the Portuguese, especially in Argentina or Brazil. Therefore, it is not surprising, from Luis Diaz to Darwin, who are the most recent, as well as Bernardo Silva, Ruben Diaz, Jota and so on, ”he recalled.
