Portugal’s Joao Felix has been voted Atlético Madrid’s Player of the Year by fans.
“I want to thank those who voted for me, as well as those who voted for the Player of the Month award,” the Portuguese thanked in statements over the club’s communication channels.
Wrapping up a season in which he played 35 games, scored ten goals and provided five assists (he was out of action for a month due to injury), Felix stressed: “I felt good. I started with an injury and got injured, but as the season progressed, I felt good. Sometimes I played and sometimes I didn’t, but I felt good and there’s always room for improvement.”
Having set his sights on next season, the forward was ambitious: “Next season we should be a little more regular, which hasn’t happened this season. With the team that we have, we will fight for titles. I am sure that next year we will be able to win titles, but we must all start with the desire and thirst for titles and wins.”
