The FC Porto team, together with President Pinto da Costa, presented the trophy for winning the League and Cup of Portugal at the club’s museum on Monday morning: it was the 30th championship and the 18th Cup.
It was the President, accompanied by Sergio Conceição and Pepe, who signaled and thanked for winning two trophies. “It is not easy not to repeat ourselves, so many times we have come here. I was wondering how we achieved such success, and I remembered a poem by Fernando Pessoa: “I am nothing. I will never be anyone. I can’t want to be nobody. Besides, I have all the dreams in the world.”. I think it reflects what I have been able to bring to the club with everyone around me. Being a nobody, but having all the dreams, I dreamed of having this fantastic band with me, ”he began.
At a time when the departure of Sergio Conceição, who did not speak, was insistent, the president seemed to want to leave a guarantee: “It will be years since Sergio Conceição and I, in the office without paper and pen, signed a commitment that lasts and will continue. This principle that I have makes me try to always have the best people with me to make the dreams that I have in my head come true – just yesterday they transformed such a beautiful stadium. [Jamor] in a blue and white space of beauty that I have never seen. It is my merit to collect the best. I am grateful to everyone around me. With or without me, you will be champions many times over.”
