Boavista and Porto will be the protagonists this Saturday of the 145th Invicta derby. A solemn night between two emblems, in which chess players want to participate in their best outfits and prevent the dragons from reaching their 100th victory in these duels.

“It’s nice to be in any game. We’re going to have an extremely difficult opponent ahead of us, having a good moment in form, we don’t have such a good moment, but it’s a city derby, always a special one that everyone loves to participate in. I hope it will be a good show,” Petit commented at the competition pre-conference.

Bessa’s team went brilliantly into the League, but did not win five matches, causing a desire to “respond”. “We didn’t succeed in previous games, we want to react in this one. We should try to understand what we can explore in FC Porto 4x4x2 with good exercises. We were close to scoring a goal but we didn’t manage to score,” the same Panthers manager continued, stressing: “It was important to go into the league break with three more points.”

The referee of the match will be Luis Godinho, who kicked Petit off the bench in the 34th minute, Boavista’s coach admitted that he was unwell. “I will not talk about refereeing. It was a bad moment on my part. I reacted badly and took responsibility. Let it go unnoticed, that’s what I want,” Bessa’s official said, not intending to comment on the situation with Sergio Conceição, since it is not known whether the Porto coach will be on the bench after he was sent off in the Portuguese Cup game.

The list of players who will be present at the World Cup has already been made public, and the handsome Cannon was not included in the selection from the USA. “This was not good news for Reggie. I went through it. I know what it’s like to be at the World Cup and I know what it’s like to be left out. We are here to help you. This was a stumbling block in his career, but he will have other opportunities,” Petit said, not seeing that the statement of the national team coach Fernando Santos could affect the performance of Pepe or Otavio in this Saturday night meeting:

“I had it on that side. And my performance as I approached the big race was the same. I remember that my last injury was my own and not in a competition. Sometimes, when an athlete spares himself, injuries happen. I believe they will do their best and not think about injuries.”
