On his way to Istanbul to sign with Fenerbahce, Jorge Jesus is already facing his first problem. On Tuesday, Mesut Ozil used social media to publicly announce his desire for next season.

“I am compelled to make this statement due to allegations that have recently been made regarding my career. I achieved my goal by signing a three and a half year contract with Fenerbahce, my childhood club, and not getting paid for the first six months. I repeat strongly: I will not end my career in any other club except Fenerbahce. For the next few years, I have only one goal: to sweat and give everything for this shirt. This is the final decision. As a professional, I will respect any decision the management makes, but I will always work hard and be ready to help Fenerbahce.

It is recalled that the player was withdrawn from the main team on March 24 by the decision of the then acting coach Ismail Kartal, with whom, according to the Turkish press, he had disagreements. Four days before, he had started against Konyaspor (2-1), having been substituted at half-time.

Mesut Ozil, who trained at Schalke, joined Fenerbahce in 2020 after spells at Werder Bremen, Real Madrid and Arsenal. In the service of the Turks, he has 37 games, nine goals and two assists.
