At the preview game against Arsenal (Sunday, 4:30 p.m.), Jurgen Klopp was invited to comment on Darwin Nunez’s adaptation. The striker started against Rangers and had four chances to score, but ultimately couldn’t get past veteran Allan McGregor and got advice from the Liverpool manager.

“I think Darwin himself said he felt pressure, but he needed to calm down. His movements are exceptional and if they saw him finish a workout, they would say “wow, my God!”. In games, he rushes things when he needs to calm down and do what he knows. As a striker, you have to get that feeling, not change things, but start feeling it,” he explained.

And as for the statements in which Darwin showed that he understood nothing of what Klopp was saying, the Liverpool manager has been devalued.

“He doesn’t speak English, he can say good morning [bom dia], Went [vamos!] and a little more. He is a confident child, but not yet a grown man, I think we all know that. You have to grow up to be a man, but that’s okay. The fact that he said that he did not understand anything from what I was saying, he already knew. The same thing happened to Roberto Firmino and other players. In fact, perhaps a big part of Firmino’s success was that he didn’t understand what I was talking about,” he joked, explaining how he communicates with Darwin: “We have people on the technical team who speak Spanish, so it’s all right.” .
