In Puebla, Mexico, on the fourth double weekend of 2021 at the Formula E World Championship, the Portuguese driver finished ePrix in sixth position in ePrix 8 of the season, earning points from his most direct rivals in the championship and taking first place in the rankings. The league table, rising from fourth to second with 60 points, is just two less than first 18th-placed Robin Frijns (Virgin).

The reigning electric singles championship champion made a dramatic return to the 45-minute race (another lap) after qualifying in 11th position. In Mexico, Pascal Wehrlein (Porsche) was first in the checkered flag, but the German driver and team were disqualified from ePrix for a technical violation. Thus, Lucas di Grassi won the Audi ahead of his teammate Rene Rast. On the third – Edoardo Mortara (Venturi).

Tomorrow, also in Puebla, the ninth stage of the World Championship will take place.
