BALL – Always attack on the move (Benfica)

A never-ending search for the best attack option. In 21 games Benfica played this season, Jorge Jesus used 14 different attacking fronts in all competitions, and this is taking into account only the starting eleven. Playing mostly in 3x4x3 format, the ultimate attacking trio of Rafa, Darwin and Everton was also unheard of at the time. Jesus decided to put three ahead so that they all play at the same speed, betting on exploration of depth, which SC Braga did not defend, and this strategy ended in complete defeat with a score of 6: 1.

Moreover, it is the most productive offensive structure of the time. The three strikers who lined up against Braga scored five of the six goals scored in that game (Grimaldo scored second), close to 100 percent, making six shots (out of 11 teams total) on target. five goals (two Rafs, two Evertons and one Darwin). No other offensive trio or duo has achieved this level of performance. This casts doubt on the scope that Jorge Jesus will give in the future with regard to the attacking side, especially at a time when Yaremchuk is running out of goals without scoring since September 25, when he scored twice in Guimaraes.
