After a third game without a win (two defeats and a draw), Portuguese António Oliveira saw Cuiaba fall into the relegation zone after losing to Coritiba (0:1) at the end of the 19th round of the Brazilian championship.

At the end of the game, in a press conference, the Portuguese coach took charge but left a message: “It was a game in which Cuiaba managed to control the ball, but not aggressively. I take responsibility, but I leave very disappointed not only with the result, but also with some individual technical actions, without which there is no football. There were practically no passes, receptions, crossings, shooting. We had eight shots and not a single goal. The opponent scored four, two on goal and scored. It is useless to be organized, to control the game without the ball, to have a lot of possession and rarely disturb the opponent.

António Oliveira once again regretted the lack of reinforcements: “I and those who work with me are ambitious, but we must also be realistic. I have already told you the conditions for us so that we can be more relaxed. The team has its own standards, but I have said this more than once, and I will say it until something changes: I really believe in work and organization, but I do not work miracles. We will keep going and strengthening the process more and more, but I would like to take steps forward.”

Cuiaba’s next game is scheduled for Sunday against Fortaleza on the 20th Brazilian.
