In Tennessee, two storm-related deaths were reported in Lake County and one in Obion County in the northwestern state, a spokeswoman for the emergency management agency said, quoted by the Associated Press (AP).

In Arkansas, a tornado struck a retirement home at the Monette estate on Friday night, killing one person and causing five serious injuries.

The building collapsed and 20 people were trapped, a Craighead County judge told the AP.

According to the same source, the building was partially destroyed.

In Illinois, a tornado hit an Amazon warehouse near Edwardsville, about 40 kilometers east of St. Louis, injuring at least one who was airlifted to a local hospital, AP reported.

Edwardsville Police Chief Mike Fillback said several people in the building were taken by bus to the police station for inspection.

Early this morning, rescue teams were still looking for the wounded in the rubble, mobilized cranes and excavators.

The collapse of the building was reported shortly after the tornado hit the city, at about 8:30 pm local time on Friday (2:30 pm today in Lisbon).

Edwardsville, a small town of about 25,000, is located near the Illinois-Missouri border, about 300 miles southwest of Chicago.
