Eberson Martins Rosendo Junior, 26, was sentenced last Friday (11) by a Santa Catarina court to five years and four days in prison. He is accused of using false documents to rent real estate, and then of evading the payment of amounts due, as well as embezzlement of household appliances and electronics installed in residential buildings. The verdict was handed down by Judge Rui Fernando Falk on a lawsuit that was considered in the 2nd Criminal Court of the capital.

As it turned out in the process, the defendants received false documents from people who are trusted and highly rated in the market. Thus, he received undue benefits at the expense of others because he entered into lease agreements and did not pay the agreed amounts.

According to the complaint, he even used false documents in the name of a football player who played for the capital club. He also used false documents on behalf of a young health care billionaire. In another scam, a forged document used the details of the deceased son of the governor of the state of Goiás. In this course of action, four real estate companies suffered losses due to the actions of the defendant.

The investigation also indicated that, as a tenant, the defendant misappropriated household appliances and electronics before leaving the property. Having violated the confidentiality of the defendant’s mobile phone data, the police also discovered the presence of three more false documents with his photograph and the names of third parties.

Thus, the practice of crimes of theft, embezzlement and forgery of documents was tested. Having appointed the verdict, the magistrate deprived the accused of the right to a free appeal. “The guarantee of public order, in fact, taking into account the characteristics of the crime committed and the personal circumstances of the convicted person, recommends maintaining his removal from public life,” the judge wrote. An appeal may be filed with the court (Case No. 5102097-12.2022.8.24.0023).
