Armindo Araujo (Skoda Fabia Evo) finished the second day of Portugal’s rally as Portugal’s top performer, despite two holes, and praised the public’s “excellent attitude” towards the track.

The Santo Tirso-based driver, who won the Portuguese Rally Championship classification on Friday with maximum points at the national stage, says he “couldn’t have asked for more.”

“It was a fantastic race for me. I won at Nacional, I got the most points in the power stage, and I am the best Portuguese player. I couldn’t even dream of a better one, ”said the six-time national champion in this sport.

Despite the lack of an audience next to the closed park at Exponor in Matosinhos, Armindo Araujo underlines the fact that the event was held “during a pandemic”.

Paulo Neto (Skoda Fábia) is 23rd, André Villas-Boas (Citroën C3) 31st and Elder Miranda (Renault Clio RS) 34th.
