Barbara Barbosa, widow Armando Rangeclarified the contours of situations of domestic violence that led to until the musician’s arrest in 2020. To do this, he broke his silence and gave an interview to Manuel Luis Gouche, in which he tried to demonstrate that the change in the musician’s behavior was mainly due to the illness that eventually killed him.

“He told me: “Since you accused me of domestic violence, then you know what it is. He pressed me against the couch and lightly hit me on the head with his fist. a bit scary”Barbara said in a “teaser” promoting an interview on TVI, but then tried to justify that it was the cancer that changed the singer and forced him to behave in domestic violence.

Barbara, who is 34 years apart from Armando, detailed the behavior of the artist, who died last January from cancer: “From time to time he showed jealousy. He had office colleagues who were men and we worked in pairs. demonstration can last an hour or two and a half and he asked: “Where are you? Why are you taking so long? Which co-worker are you with? [A violência] at first it was very slow, these were only episodic situations, after the second or third it already began to grow faster, accelerating“.

“It was psychological abuse, but it was not an insult to me, it was very difficult for him to cope with decolonization. There was a day when he forbade me to leave the house for work. Then there were insults to politicians related to decolonization. He grabbed me and forced me to listen. I said, “Either stop or I’ll go to the guest room because I have to work.” The next day I asked myself why I left, I couldn’t remember“, – he explained, adding: “I counted the various physical factors that happened to Armando, and the psychiatrist told me that this was a sign of a brain tumor: everything that was cold, he became cold, he began to forget the letters. who knew by heart, sniffed out of nowhere.

Finally, he spoke about his complaints: “He left the house by court order, he was forbidden to approach me closer than 500 meters. (…) I made a very serious mistake, I never thought that this would become public. Three complaints were filed, and this did not become known until the case went to court. I thought no one would ever know. My idea was not to separate, but to have him undergo treatment to get back to who he was. (…) I don’t want you to reduce Armando to three months of his life when he was 67 years old. It is unfair to judge his life by a situation that was punctual and motivated by illness.“.
