Ar Telecom invests 10 million in fiber optic network and data center – Telecommunications

It is with an “ambitious investment plan” that Ar Telecom begins what it describes as a “new era” in an operator recently integrated into the Spanish Aire group. Strengthening the fiber optic network and opening a data center in the Greater Lisbon area will cost 10 million euros.

The announcement was made by the company in a statement sent out to the newsroom this Monday.

The investment will focus on a “high-capacity fiber optic network that will connect Portugal to Europe,” a project the company hopes to complete by the end of the first half of next year.

By the end of 2022, Ar Telecom hopes to complete the development of “a modern fiber optic network to connect companies in major urban centers” and to implement a new data center in Lisbon’s Greater Plaza next year.

Three projects, which, according to the operator, should allow to create 100 direct jobs and the same number of indirect ones by 2025, “mainly in functions related to specialized areas of telecommunications, networks, information systems and cybersecurity,” says the CEO of Ar Telecom … , Thiago Oliveira Santos, cited in the same note.
