Apple Releases 1A276D Firmware for AirTags

Published

on

After Apple released its AirTags tracking device in April this year, the Cupertino-based company is now rolling out the first update to its firmware.

Version 1A276D offers more security features such as the ability for Android device users to access information from a lost AirTag.

How to check Apple AirTag firmware version

It is currently not possible to manually update the firmware as Apple has chosen to update automatically. In that sense, below you can see how you can check the firmware version installed on your AirTag:

  1. Go to the Find My app on your iPhone.
  2. Go to the Items tab and select your AirTag.
  3. Tap the appropriate Airtag and the serial number and firmware version will open.

If the firmware version of your AirTag is not yet 1A276D, you will have to wait for the device to update automatically. You can always go back to the steps above to check if the AirTag has already been updated.
