According to Reuters, citing two anonymous sources, Altice is working with Lazard to prepare a $ 7.3 billion (about € 6 billion) sale in Portugal, in a process that could begin in July. And it goes in the same direction as the previous news.

In addition to MásMovil, other leading European telecom operators such as Telefónica and Orange, as well as large private equity funds investing in the sector, were alerted about the sale, Reuters notes.

On April 4th, Expresso stressed that the possible sale of Altice Portugal will already attract the attention of some telecom giants.

According to the weekly Financial Sources and Telecommunications Sector, there have already been “several potential candidates” to buy the owner of Meo. The French company Orange, which partnered with Nos, the Spanish company MásMóvil, which owns Nowo, and the KKR foundation, which once owned Nowo and Oni Telecom, were the candidates chosen by the weekly.

According to the latest analysts’ forecasts, the potential sale of Altice Portugal could bring between six and seven billion euros to the French group Altice, led by Patrick Drahi (pictured).
