After massive layoffs, Twitter urges workers to return

BUTafter laying off almost half of the workers, shortly after billionaire Elon Musk took control of the company, social network Twitter is now asking some workers to returnas many of those laid off were part of important company projects.

On Friday, the company laid off about 3,700 peoplewith many describing online that they no longer have access to their information and contacts. Many have even launched legal proceedings against Twitter for alleged labor code violations in the United States.which requires a certain notice period for mass layoffs.

According to bloomberg, the company is now asking some employees to come back, pointing out that they were fired either wrongly or for being part of Musk’s ideas for the network. – and it will already be developed before the entrepreneur buys it.

Bloomberg adds that the manner in which the mass layoffs were carried out was “chaotic” and “hurried”.

Musk said the layoffs were necessary to cope with the loss of revenue from the social network, which, admitted to suffering losses of four million dollars a day..

The layoffs didn’t just happen in the United States. In India, for example, the company laid off 90% of its staff, severely hampering malicious and offensive content inspection, business support, translations, product development, and other departments.

On Twitter, the journalist mentioned that the social network’s public relations team has been reduced from a group of 80 to 100 people to two people.

Despite cutbacks, the billionaire, who also owns Tesla and SpaceX, is pushing employees to speed up the development of new features and ideas he has for the social network. A photo posted by an employee sleeping on the office floor has gone viral to showcase tough shifts under Elon Musk.
