The incident, which took place Wednesday morning, occurred when protesters marched in downtown Portland as part of weeks of protests calling for police reform. That reflects an incident last week in Henrico County, Virginia, where a man was arrested after he allegedly drove his car through the Black Lives Matter march.

Anthony Eaglehorse-Lassandro, 27, came to the crowd of protesters just after 1 o’clock in the morning. ET near Southwest 3rd Avenue near Alder Street in his car, police said. Eaglehorse-Lassandro then drove into the crowd, attacked several demonstrators, drove at high speed, and made a wrong turn, the statement added.

Eaglehorse-Lassandro injured three people but all had wounds which, the police said, “are believed not to be life-threatening.” Two were taken to hospital by ambulance and one patient was taken to be treated in a private car, police said.

After Eaglehorse-Lassandro escaped from the scene, police on the plane “were able to monitor the vehicle and provide location updates when the vehicle was suspected of careless driving,” the statement said.

Finally, he was arrested after crashing into another car, a barrier, and trying to escape on foot, police said.

Eaglehorse-Lassandro was arrested on charges including “Felony Hit and Run,” “Reckless Driving”, and “Possession of a Controlled Substance,” prison records indicate. It is not clear whether he has a lawyer.

This was the only arrest related to the protest that night, police said.
