He has the number 99 on his back, but he never dreamed of being like Vitor Bahia. In fact, Vitor Oliveira, aka Vitinha, 21, declares himself in SC Braga as a fear of goalkeepers.

In the match against Gilles Vicente, he made his debut in the starting lineup and scored in the League, becoming the main one in the conquest of three points. It was the sixth official game, the second in the league, in which four goals have already been scored. But after all, who is this boy?

Vitinha was born in the Cavez parish, Cabeceiras de Basto, and is proud to have created the Associação Águias de Alvite, a club affiliated with Benfica, where he played until his second year. He distinguished himself with many goals scored, but there is an irony in this story. “I have never been invited to the AF Braga selection. I don’t think they will see him, but in the strongest teams he was never the weakest. He was as good or better than the others, ”recalls Bernardino Dorado, coordinator of the Agias de Alvite school.

Vitinha was even tested in Seixal, but did not attract the attention of Benfica. On the rare occasion that SC Braga was conducting a fundraiser, it exploded. “It was on May 1st. Scored three goals in the first game! There were many children, only two remained, he was one of the chosen ones. It should be remembered that expectations were low: he arrived late, at 17, moved from a small club to an academy, was shy and withdrawn. But with a sense of mission and work, he was at his best. In juniors we played for the title with Benfica until the end, Vitor was always in the spotlight, ”recalls Jose Carvalho Araujo, coach of the Braga team.
