After four years of interregnum, with delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Rock in Rio has returned to Parque da Bela Vista in Lisbon. According to the organization, during the first four days of the 9th edition, 74,000 people visited the festival in our country.

The British Muse were the most anticipated and did not disappoint despite the rain that fell during the hour and a half of their performance. They started with a brand new Will of the People, went through the inevitable Hysteria, Psycho to the great hits Running Out of Time, Rebellion and Starlight. Matt Bellamy even scribbled Rage Against the Machine, ending it all with huge fireworks.

It was just after 00:30 on the clock and another 12 hours of celebration had passed, with many moments filled with symbolism. Simona de Oliveira, one of the living legends of Portuguese music, took to the Mundo Stage to commemorate the importance of the union, and immediately afterward, there was a moment of silence in peace.

The main stage was opened by Xutos & Pontapés (present in nine editions of RiR), followed by Liam Gallagher. Away from the Oasis days, a self-proclaimed Manchester City fan, he spoke of Bernardo Silva and Ruben Dias, forgetting João Cancelo. The National switched to Muse. Much more music was played on other stages of the hall, especially the Portuguese The Black Mamba and Linda Martini, as well as the Brazilians Ego Kill Talent and several other new talents.

The party continues this Sunday with Black Eyed Peas, Ivete Sangalo, Ellie Goulding. And next weekend will be Duran Duran, A-ha Anita, Jason Derulo and Post Malone. Music, but also a lot of fun.
