Belenenses beat UD Leiria 4-2 in the match of the 5th round of Serie B of Ligue 3, which took place this Sunday afternoon at the Dr. Magalhães Pessoa in Leiria and thus the blue team rose to lead the championship.

The clash between two historical figures with a strong background in Portuguese football was both goals and spectacle, but there was another official Ligue 3 record statistic: a new attendance record. The venue in Leiria was attended by 18,124 spectators, surpassing the previous mark also held by UD Leiria, which had already been confirmed this season at the Académica reception (17,122).

The emblem of the city of Lys even scored first, thanks to Jordan van der Gaag, in the 41st minute, but already in the compensation period of the first half, Joao Costa equalized the score.

Shortly after the restart, Flavinho put Belenenses ahead from the penalty spot, leaving Cle and Javi Fernandez to push the numbers to rout. The best the hosts managed to do was close the gap in the 69th minute thanks to Leandro Antunes.

With this triumph, Belenenses leads Serie B with 11 points, while UD Leiria falls to 5th place, retaining the 7 points he entered this round with.
