Pre-candidates and MPs complain about political crimes in Parana
Pre-candidates, MPs and Senators used social media this Sunday (October 7) to refute the recent episode of political violence that took place in Foz do Iguacu (PR). Two men died in a shootout at a birthday party for Lula and PT. It happened on a Saturday evening (7/9).
The gunman arrived at the PT-style party shouting “Here’s to Bolsonaro.”
PDT’s tentative candidate for president, Ciro Gomes, described the episode as a “human and political tragedy”. “It is sad, very sad, a human and political tragedy that claimed the lives of two family members in Foz do Iguaçu. Political hatred must be contained in order to prevent a tragedy of gigantic proportions,” he wrote.
“May God, in His mercy, intercede for us Brazilians, pacify our souls, and bring comfort to the two families destroyed in this absurd, senseless and aimless war,” the pedestrian continued on social networks.

Senate Opposition Leader Randolph Rodriguez (Rede-AP) called the case “barbaric.” “There are no two sides when one of them is barbarism! Bolsonarist killed a family man, a PT leader, in Foz do Iguacu during his birthday. This is unthinkable! Unbearable in any society,” defended the senator who coordinated Lula’s campaign.

PT National President Glasey Hoffmann (PR) also spoke out, posting a video on the birthday of a supporter who was the victim of shootings. “Today we should have congratulated Marcelo, but we are here mourning his death. The city hall of Foz do Iguacu mourned the death of the birthday boy Marcelo Arruda, who was the municipal civil guard. “Marcelo was from the first class of the municipal guard and worked in the corporation for 28 years. He was also the Executive Director of the Union of Municipal Employees of Foz do Iguacu (Sismufi),” he adds.

Municipal guard Marcelo Arruda, a candidate for vice-mayor in the last election, was killed during his 50th birthday celebration, which took place on Saturday evening (September 7) in Foz do Iguaçu. The party was PT themed.
