Still Apple always implemented a limit on the amount of RAM an iPadOS app can use to keep iPad running smoothly. If, for any reason, an app needs all the RAM available on the tablet, it will seriously impact performance. GeneralAnd to prevent this, Apple initially enabled the memory limit of just 5GB to ensure that it was enough to keep the tablet running at high speed. However, more and more professionals (especially creative professionals) are using the Apple Tablet more and more often. iPads are powerful desktop tablets that let you run resource-intensive programs that require more than 5GB of RAM allocated by Apple by default. Especially it concerns Applications related to graphic design, which includes 3D modeling and video or photo editing.
Keeping these needs in mind, Apple has decided to raise the limit permanently with the release of iPadOS 15, which launches on September 20. According to the site MacRumores, programmers will soon be able to program their Applications to request additional RAM so that iPad users can get the most out of even the most demanding apps (although the extra RAM isn’t limitless either). The new memory limit depends on the iPad with different RAM sizes.
A group of graphic design application programmers first discovered this on the M1. iPad Pro which has 16GB of RAM, applications can now request up to 12GB of RAM, leaving the remaining 4GB for basic system functions. IPad Pro models based on the M1 chipset with less available memory (such as 8GB) allow apps to request up to 6GB on iPadOS 15. The remaining 2GB is reserved for all major processes. In no case will the applications work. allowed to use the last buffer (or the remaining 4GB in the iPad Pro 16GB version).
According to Apple, all “supported devices” will be able to take advantage of this new memory usage update, although it’s still somewhat vague – at least we can be sure it will make it to the newest M1-iPad Pro with iPadS 15.
recently released iPad mini 6 e Input iPad 9th generationél won’t be able to take advantage of these new features as they don’t have much RAM to start with (4GB for the mini and only 3GB for the 9th generation iPad).
