7 politicians running for Mayor of Rio Verde
The list of preliminary candidates for mayor of Rio Verde is relatively long. Not everyone will be candidates—and some may even be vices—and other candidates may emerge over time. Elections will be held in a year and 11 months. But articulations have already begun, and politicians are trying to publicly expose their names. After all, those who have not been seen are not remembered.
The dispute in Rio Verde will be mainly between a candidate who will preserve and expand the legacy of Mayor Paulo do Vale from União Brasil, and a candidate who intends precisely to reject this legacy, betting on change, on a change of power.
There are at least two names on the base of Paulo do Vale: Dannillo Pereira, his deputy mayor and deputy federal deputy, and physician Wellington Carrijo. It seems clear that only one of them will be a candidate. The opposition has five names, but the trend is that the bottleneck is limited to two or three names.
The following list is in alphabetical order, not in favoritism.
one
Dannillo Pereira/PSD
The Deputy Mayor is in charge of the soybean and corn industries in Rio Verde and Parauna. This year he ran for federal deputies and was the first deputy. He received an exceptional number of votes in the municipality (28,094 votes, 28.56%), far ahead of Marusa Boldrin. He is pointed out as an uncharismatic but responsible politician. He is closely associated with the mayor, Paulo do Vale.
Godfather: Paulo do Vale.
2
Heuler Cruvinel/Patriot
Owner of a construction company and active in the real estate industry, he is also a top-notch livestock breeder. He was a federal deputy for two terms and was never elected mayor of Rio Verde (starts well, ends badly). He was frustrated with politics, his former muse, but this year he agreed to be Gustavo Mendaña’s Patriots’ running mate, and they received a vote considered negligible, less than 26% of the actual vote.
Despite being a minor on the campaign trail, allies say he plans to run for mayor of Rio Verde. It will express support for Dr. Osvaldo Fonseca Junior of the Patriots, who ran for mayor on the MDB in 2020 and was defeated by Paulo do Vale. Fonseca Jr.’s father he was his chief of staff in Brazil for eight years.
The fact that he is considered a seasonal politician weakens his campaign project.
Godfather: Osvaldo Fonseca Junior.
3
Carlos Cabral/PSB
Re-elected as a state deputy, he is an eloquent politician with a good image in the municipality. He fights on the left, but moderately. He will only be a candidate if the PSD’s Lissauer Vieira coordinates his campaign. It is currently the name of the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly for Local Dispute.
The city politician says the following: “Lissauer Vieira is stronger in the media in Goiania than among the voters in Rio Verde. But it is possible that he will nominate a candidate solely and exclusively to oppose Paulo do Vale. In public, the deputy even praises the municipal manager. Personally, he does not respect the mayor. Carlos Cabral is a good man, but if he runs against the heavyweights of the situation and the opposition, he won’t stand a chance of being elected. However, put your name on the agenda. In politics, you must be remembered.”
Godfather: Lissauer Vieira.
four
Marussa Boldrin/MDB
An acting councillor, she was elected as a federal deputy in her first competition. It is articulated and has expressive support. Federal MP José Mario Schreiner – President of the Federation of Agriculture of the State of Goiás (Faeg) – and Isaac Portillo, both from the MDB, support him.
It should be noted that Faeg can demand that he stay in the Chamber of Deputies, working for projects that benefit rural producers (farmers and ranchers). There is also the problem that the MDB, through Daniel Vilela and Paulo do Vale, have strengthened their political relations in Rio Verde. So much so that the mayor’s son, Lucas do Vale, was elected MDB’s state deputy with a landslide vote. In Rio Verde alone, he received 36,826 votes (36.52%).
Since she is young and active, she may run for mayor. But, as mentioned above, it depends on the coordination of the MBR with the mayor. After all, Daniel Vilela is to be a candidate for governor in 2026 and will need the support of the political structure of Paulo do Vale in the fourth most voted municipality in Goiás.

5
Osvaldo Fonseca Jr./Patriot
Gustavo Mendaña complained that during his Osvaldo Fonseca campaign, Júnior disappeared as soon as he realized that governor Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil) would win in the first round.
In 2020, he received a good vote for mayor thanks to the active support of the MDB. However, in 2022, he abandoned Daniel Vilela’s MDB, choosing to support Mendanha as governor. Despite his silence, he left the 2022 elections less than in 2020, when he lost to Paulo do Vale.
He is considered a fickle politician, not prone to compromise. If Hoyler Kruvinel is a candidate, he usually becomes his deputy. If an ex-deputy drops out of the race, he must put himself up as a candidate for mayor. His problem is that he no longer has a party – “Patriot” is a kind of “NGO” without any structure.
They joke about Fonseca Jr.: “As a politician, he is a good doctor. And as a doctor, he is a bad politician.”
Godfather: Hoyler Cruvinel.
6
Professor Wawa/PT
Appointed as a respectable figure in the PT, Master is running for mayor in 2020. It is more suitable to designate a position, since the PT in the municipality does not have a proper structure for a majority dispute.
Godfather: Rubens Othoni, federal deputy.
7
Wellington Carrijo
Doctor, is considered one of the strong names in the health sector of Rio Verde. He is young, eloquent and charismatic.
Demonstrating the ability to formulate if he will compete, he will be supported by Dr. Juraci Martins, the former mayor of the municipality (who does not support the duo of Hoyler Kruvinel and Osvaldo Fonseca Jr. or that the cow coughs in Russian or in Ukrainian).
His supporters say that despite belonging to a political power group, he represents the new.
He is being cited to take over as state health minister.
God-parents: Paulo do Vale and Lucas do Vale.

The dollar continues to reflect the political scenario
Yesterday, financial agents evaluated the opposite decision of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) regarding the so-called secret budget. In addition, a decision was made by STF Minister Gilmar Méndez to issue an injunction that would exclude the Bolsa Família from the spending cap rule, with investors trying to understand how this measure would affect the processing of the transitional PEC in the Chamber of Deputies. Oh this PEC!!!!
Since he is an exchange investor, any reading that the budget will be exceeded or become more flexible will negatively affect the exchange market, whether through the PEC or in any other way. We will continue with volatility today.
Looking beyond, the US Central Bank (Fed), although slowing down the pace of monetary tightening at its December meeting, issued a tougher-than-expected statement warning that its fight against inflation was not yet over, raising fears that rising US interest rates will push the world’s largest economy into recession.
The currency market continues to react to political news. The voting on the PEC is saved for today. It is expected that it will indeed be reviewed to open the way tomorrow for discussions on the 2023 budget.
For today on the calendar we will have an index of consumer confidence in the eurozone. Good luck and good luck in business!!

The EU has reached a political agreement on limiting gas prices – 19.12.2022
The agreement was approved by a supermajority at a ministerial meeting of member states in Brussels, Belgium, after months of discussions about the best way to contain the rise in natural gas prices in the bloc caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. .
The value set by the countries is well below the proposal made by the European Commission, the EU’s executive body, in November: 275 EUR/MWh. However, the countries leading the cap campaign were in favor of an even lower limit, around 100 EUR/MWh.
Germany, always wary of price controls, voted in favor of 180 euros, while Austria and the Netherlands, also skeptical of the cap, abstained. Hungary, the most pro-Russian country in the EU, voted against.
The instrument will enter into force on 15 February, but only if natural gas prices on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange exceed 180 euros/MWh for three consecutive days. In addition, the difference compared to a number of global benchmarks should be more than 35 euros.
Italy, the EU’s biggest supporter of the ceiling, has claimed responsibility for the measure. “This is a victory for Italy, which believed and worked for us to reach this agreement,” Environment and Energy Minister Gilberto Picetto tweeted.
“This is a victory for Italian and European citizens who demand energy security,” he added.
Currently, the gas price in Amsterdam is around 110 EUR/MWh, which is already a reflection of the agreement in Brussels – in August the figure even broke the barrier of 340 EUR/MWh.
However, Russia has already threatened to stop exports to countries that adhere to the ceiling. (ANSA).
