Portuguese club consults Flamengo on loan from Hugo Sousa

Estoril Praia has scouted Flamengo to clear up the situation with goalkeeper Hugo Souza in order to take him on loan until June 2023. The 23-year-old has been in the spotlight of the Portuguese club since the end of last season.

O Torcedores.com found that coach Dorival Junior’s lack of opportunities could hasten Hugo Souza’s departure from Flamengo. After all, the player does not want to spend another season as an option on the bench.

Shortly after the arrival of the coach, the goalkeeper lost the starting position to Diego Alves. A poor performance in the Brazilian championship played a cruel joke against him. And with the recovery of Santos, Hugo Souza was “downgraded” to the position of the third option for the position.

Also according to the report, Estoril Praia wants to hire a young player with market potential to strengthen the team next season. The club recently failed negotiations with John from Santos.

The Estoril Praia gate is considered by the coaching staff to be one of the most missing positions in the squad. Currently, Nelson Verissimo, the former Benfica commander, has Thiago Rodriguez, Daniel Figueira, Francisco Lemos and Joao Oliveira to play the archer role.

Because of this, the Portuguese club’s board is looking into the ball market for different players. Another name that Estoril Praia also tried was Ivan Quaresma, however there was no progress. After all, the archer moved to Zenit from Russia during the negotiations that brought Yuri Alberto to Corinthians.

Hugo Sousa received a heavy fine

Promoted in 2020 by coach Domenech Torrent, Hugo Souza is one of the most controversial players in Flamengo’s current squad. Thus, the red-black board does not intend to prevent a possible exit as long as it is final.

The contract of the red and black calf is valid until December 31, 2025. The penalty for its termination is 70 million euros (379.8 million reais at the current price). However, the cost does not fit into Estoril Praia’s budget.

Despite not working for Rio, Hugo Souza was recently sought out by representatives of Ajax and PSV Eindhoven. The Dutch approached the player’s agent André Bahia with a request to start a conversation with Flamengo.

Even with an interest in getting rid of the goalkeeper, the red-black council warned that they did not intend to negotiate Hugo Souza for less than 25 million euros (135.6 million reais). The value, however, alienated those interested.

Last year, for example, Flamengo received polls from Udinese in Italy. At the time, the goalkeeper took over the title after Diego Alves, then owner of the red-and-black goal, suffered several muscle injuries.

Hugo Sousa is a recent desire of Estoril Praia who is looking for young players to strengthen their team. Even though it doesn’t work, it is considered promising and has great resale potential in the future.

Paulo Souza avoids blaming Hugo Souza for conceding a goal: “It’s prestigious.” Watch the video!

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro Filipe Cunha, Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braga, has been invited to conduct the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, as announced today.

According to a statement sent by O MINHO, “he will be the first Portuguese conductor to conduct this orchestra in its entire history.”

In addition to this orchestra, the maestro will also work with the Lyceo Mozarteum de la Habana Symphony Orchestra.

The concerts will take place on 4 and 12 March 2023 at the National Theater of Cuba in Havana.

In the words of the maestro, quoted in the statement, “these will be very beautiful concerts with difficult but very complex pieces” and therefore he feels “very motivated”.

From the very beginning, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 will be performed by an Italian pianist (Luigi Borzillo), whom the maestro wants to bring to Portugal later this year. In the same concert, Mendelshon’s First Symphony will be performed.

Then, at the second concert, in the company of the Mexican clarinetist Angel Zedillo, he will perform the Louis Sfora Concerto No. 2. In this concert, the maestro also conducts Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.

“This is an international recognition of my work. An invitation that I accept with humility and great responsibility. I was surprised to learn that I would be the first Portuguese member of the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. This is a very great honor,” the maestro said in a statement.

“I take with me the name of the city of Braga and Portugal with all the responsibility that goes with it, and I hope to do a good job there, leaving a good image and putting on great concerts. These will be very special concerts because, in addition to performing pieces that I love, especially Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, I will be directing two wonderful soloists who are also my friends. It will be very beautiful,” concludes Filipe Cunha.
