Fogo Fatuo and Ice Dealers among Portuguese Films Presented at Melbourne Film Festival - Atualidade

The films Fogo-Fátuo, The Ice Dealers and Diários de Otsoga are among the Portuguese-produced and co-produced entries selected for the 70th Melbourne Film Festival in August in Australia, according to the announced program.

The feature films section will feature the films Tourment sur les îles by Spanish director Albert Serra and Tout le monde aime Jeanne by Frenchwoman Céline Deveaux, co-produced by Portugal.

They were also joined by “Diários de Otsoga” by Maureen Fazendeiro and Miguel Gómez and “Fogo-Fátuo” by João Pedro Rodríguez.

Forbidden to Dogs and Italians, directed by French director Alain Hughetto and co-produced by Portugal, will be included in the program of feature-length animated films.

At the choice of the French director Lucille Hadjihalilovich, whose work will be the focus of the festival, the film The Pirate’s Garden (1983) directed by Raul Ruiz and produced by Paulo Branco will also be screened.

The 70th Melbourne Film Festival will run from August 4th to 21st in theaters and run until the 28th of the same month with some “online” screenings in Australia.
