However, there is also the possibility that it will be used for completely different purposes, opening the door to new possibilities. Recently, the James Webb Space Telescope showed its first images taken at a distance of 1.5 million kilometers from Earth. In the case of Xuntian, this will not happen, as it will be “parked” next to the Chinese space station in order to facilitate its maintenance and solve possible technical problems.

The service life of the Chinese mega-telescope should be about 10 years. However, this period can be extended if you don’t run into a lot of problems and complete a few successful missions.
