Tuesday was a busy one and all the football info about Flamengo’s new pro, Palmeiras’ buff and more is all here on Torcedores.com!

Flamengo may hire the Portuguese to clean up the house

At great risk of being sacked, Paulo Souza could say goodbye to Flamengo against Red Bull Bragantino. In this context, the board, in case of withdrawal, will formulate a radical change in the football department. According to journalist Bruno Andrade, the name José Boto is gaining momentum behind the scenes to take on the role of Marcos Braz’s right-hand man.

During his career, the 56-year-old Portuguese, who is currently the director of football for PAOK, has worked as head scout for Benfica and Shakhtar Donetsk. Thus, he could offer contracts and act as the main intermediary between the director and the cast, a role that is vacant in Flamengo.

According to journalist Vene Casagrande, José Boto was offered through Brazilian businessmen. So given the situation with Paulo Souza, Flamengo tends to analyze more pros as Rodolfo Landim has sanctioned a search for a replacement for the current coach.

“Many players understand that the methodology will not work, and the board has already understood this. At a meeting of the Football Council, Rodolfo Landim made it clear that the (directors) of football were authorized to map the market and look for possible names. It was also said at that meeting that José Boto was offered to Flamengo through Brazilian intermediaries,” he said on his YouTube channel.

Palmeiras player on the mend as fans react: ‘Come back soon’

After a draw with Atlético MG last weekend, Palmeiras returned to the Football Academy on Tuesday (7th) and began preparations for the match against Botafogo scheduled for Thursday at Allianz Parque.

Low due to a knee injury, linebacker Jailson has been working separately and is still fully recovering to return in the second half. On social networks, the Palestinian team posted a photo of a footballer doing physical activity, and fans expressed their desire to briefly return the steering wheel rented by Palmeiras this season.

Luan could leave Corinthians

Bahia could look to recruit Corinthians-backed attacking midfielder Luan if the sale to Gruppo City goes through. The player will be one of the first acquisitions of the club’s new stage. Corinthians should release the player in the middle of the year

Some names are considered as possible targets for the Rooster. One of them is 23-year-old striker Thomas Cankalay, who plays for Racing. However, the Argentine club denied the speculation.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro Filipe Cunha, Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braga, has been invited to conduct the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, as announced today.

According to a statement sent by O MINHO, “he will be the first Portuguese conductor to conduct this orchestra in its entire history.”

In addition to this orchestra, the maestro will also work with the Lyceo Mozarteum de la Habana Symphony Orchestra.

The concerts will take place on 4 and 12 March 2023 at the National Theater of Cuba in Havana.

In the words of the maestro, quoted in the statement, “these will be very beautiful concerts with difficult but very complex pieces” and therefore he feels “very motivated”.

From the very beginning, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 will be performed by an Italian pianist (Luigi Borzillo), whom the maestro wants to bring to Portugal later this year. In the same concert, Mendelshon’s First Symphony will be performed.

Then, at the second concert, in the company of the Mexican clarinetist Angel Zedillo, he will perform the Louis Sfora Concerto No. 2. In this concert, the maestro also conducts Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.

“This is an international recognition of my work. An invitation that I accept with humility and great responsibility. I was surprised to learn that I would be the first Portuguese member of the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. This is a very great honor,” the maestro said in a statement.

“I take with me the name of the city of Braga and Portugal with all the responsibility that goes with it, and I hope to do a good job there, leaving a good image and putting on great concerts. These will be very special concerts because, in addition to performing pieces that I love, especially Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, I will be directing two wonderful soloists who are also my friends. It will be very beautiful,” concludes Filipe Cunha.
