European project led by Cinemateca Portuguesa extended by two years – Observer

The European education and film program for children and youth CinEd will be extended for another two years, the project coordinator Cinemateca Portuguesa announced on Friday.

“CinEd has again been selected for funding by the Creative Europe/MEDIA Program through its Audience Development and Film Education funding line. The CinEd 2.1 project covers 12 countries: Portugal, Bulgaria, Romania, Germany, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Croatia, Finland and Greece, as well as Lithuania and Turkey as associated partners.

The collection of films available includes three Portuguese titles: Aniki Bobo by Manoel de Oliveira, Sangue by Pedro Costa and Uma Pedra no Bolso by Joaquim Pinto.

In the first phase, between 2015 and 2020, CinEd promoted European cinema and reached over 62,000 children and young people with around 1,400 film screenings.
