Sony launches new WH-1000XM5 wireless headphones

Nearly two years after the liberation of those who remained best wireless noise canceling headphones on the market, Sony releases its successors, the new WH-1000XM5. Unlike the 1000XM4, they have undergone significant changes both in terms of design, construction, components and performance.

They no longer allow the rod to be folded, which makes them difficult to transport when traveling, but on the other hand, the simplification of the design has reduced the weight, which in turn makes them more comfortable to use for long periods of use. . Soft synthetic leather is used, the rest of the elements are recycled plastic from automotive parts. Even the packaging itself has gone plastic-free, using various types of recycled and sustainable materials.

This design change allowed improvements to the structure, such as the inclusion of a total of eight microphones (four of them beamforming), which are in turn driven by a dual Sony HD QN1 processor to provide not only more effective noise reduction, but also filter your voice from all external noise during a phone call through the new algorithms of Precise Voice Pickup technology.

In order to enhance the high performance of the active noise canceling system, Sony has created a new type of 30mm driver that can more effectively cancel noise at mid and high frequencies. To keep sound reproduction as good as the WH-1000XM4 speakers (which were 40mm), Sony used a carbon fiber dome reinforced on the side with a layer of polyurethane.

With this solution, Sony guarantees the ability to reproduce frequencies from 4 Hz to 40 kHz, a frequency that drops to 20 Hz – 40 kHz when using Bluetooth wireless technology. When used with the supplied cable (1.2m), they provide a sensitivity of 102dB (at 1kHz) with headphones on (with Sony V1 processor) or 100dB (1kHz) with headphones off.

In terms of battery life, Sony has kept 30 hours of battery life with noise canceling active, but when it’s turned off, the maximum battery life rises to 40 hours. By enabling the fast charging system, you can fully charge the battery in 3 hours and 30 minutes, just 3 minutes of charging to guarantee 3 hours of music playback.

Sony Portugal has already provided us with several copies, which we will review for the next issue of PCGuia magazine. These Sony WH-1000XM5s are now available to order for 450 euros and are scheduled to hit the national market on May 24th.

Kerbal Space Program 2 now kicks off in early 2023

The Kerbal 2 space program will remain on earth for some time to come. Developer Star Theory has delayed the release of the game until early 2023.

Creative director Nate Simpson explained on the project’s forums and in a video message that development of the space flight simulator has “enormous technological complexity” and the team needs more time to bring it to perfection. In the video posted below, Simpson clarifies by saying:

“We have also set very high quality standards. the game should [perform] for a wide range of vehicles. Graphics must be second to none. The universe should be rich and interesting to explore. We set ourselves an internal goal – to create an original and breathtaking experience.

Like its well-received predecessor, Kerbal Space Program 2 challenges players to manage a space program run by cute green astronauts to build rockets and other spacecraft for space exploration. The game uses realistic physics to allow players to perform realistic orbital maneuvers used to locate and land on celestial bodies. The sequel was first announced at Gamescom 2019 with a release window in 2020. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic delayed development and forced the team to aim for Fall 2021 to arrive later this year.

Kerbal Space Program 2 is aimed at PC at launch, with console versions coming later in the year.

Unfortunately, Kerbal isn’t the only major game that has been pushed back to 2023. We recently compiled a list of all the best games of 2022 to avoid this year, which you can read here.

See photos of the Blood Moon during the morning lunar eclipse - Science

Another lunar eclipse occurred this morning, resulting in the formation of a red moon and the formation of a supermoon, a phenomenon also known as the “moonflower”. It only partially obscures the Sun. This phenomenon has been observed in America, Europe and other regions of the globe. .

The phenomenon reached its peak around 4:11 am, when the Moon was completely in the cone of the Earth’s shadow. The total eclipse ended at 4:54 am. The moon came out of the shadow at 5:55, but the penumbra remained for another hour.

See images of the lunar eclipse in the gallery:

“Although completely in shadow, the Moon is still visible, but has a reddish and brownish color. In fact, during a lunar eclipse, the sun’s rays fall on the moon after crossing the Earth’s atmosphere, where they scatter and lose a large amount of blue and green light, ”the Lisbon Astronomical Observatory explained. During an eclipse, the moon was illuminated not with white, but with a reddish light. The moment of the Full Moon phase lasted only two minutes.

At 7:52 AM, the Moon completely emerged from the penumbra, returning to its usual hue, although it was already below the horizon.

According to the observatory, the next total lunar eclipse will occur on November 8, 2022.

Introduced in iOS A few years ago, the widget feature is now a new category of apps that have been captivating the youth in recent months and becoming a favorite for photo-sharing. These are services such as Locket and LiveIn that display contact photos on the home screen of a mobile phone.

New sharing apps have become Gen Z’s way of interacting online. Locket and LiveIn apps are not exclusive iPhone and also available for Android system. However, they have become popular among iOS device users, especially in the United States.

In general, these applications work quite simply. To send a picture, simply open the app, take a picture, and choose who to share it with. To view files sent by your friends, simply activate the widget on the home screen of your mobile device. In this way, you can follow updates from friends without having to view unwanted posts such as advertisements and other posts.

“It’s more or less what you do in Snapchat, but without having to open the app,” explained Jimmy Wells, a LiveIn user based in the US, according to a posting on technologist Olhar Digital’s website. These apps only became possible in 2020 when the widget feature was included in the Apple operating system. But this functionality has been around for over a decade on Android.
