Closed in 2015, PlayStation Home is being revived by a group of fans.

A group of fans managed to re-launch PlayStation Home, allowing players to connect to it online. A project called Destination Home is non-profit and has been trying to bring Home back for several years, even with an offline version available for download that can be played on an unlocked PS3 or PC using emulation.

Now, in collaboration with the PlayStation Online Network Emulated (PSONE) fan group, Destination Home has managed to re-enable the online connection in Home. According to the group, by the end of the year, players will be able to connect to the network at home and use public and private lobbies.

Several players supported the project by donating home data from their PS3. This allowed the group to reclaim multiple locations from the original app, including the Hub, Bowling Alley, and Playground, as well as the ability to customize the suite.

PS Home was released in open beta in December 2008 and was a 3D social interaction platform that PS3 owners could use to interact with other players and visit themed locations. The app was closed while still in beta in March 2015.

The PSONE group, which is not affiliated with Sony and refuses to receive money for its work, claims to do what it does just to preserve the PS3’s legacy.

Earlier this week, they managed to bring back the online multiplayer mode Motorstorm, which was closed in 2010. They came up with a way to mimic Sony’s servers and create their own that anyone can connect to.

PSONE also supports other PS3 games including Warhawk, SOCOM Confrontation, Killzone 2, Twisted Metal Black, and Calling All Cars. They are currently working on adding additional games to their server such as Resistance, Wipeout HD and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal.

WhatsApp Update Allows Temporary Messages by default - current

An update was released yesterday for the instant messaging program WhatsApp (6), which will add temporary messaging features for new conversations by default.

According to the company, the new feature could be changed by users, who will determine how long messages are available in history. Available options: 24 hours, 7 days, 90 days, or disabled – while the messages remain available at all times.

Meta’s WhatsApp, previously Facebook, said in a statement that the change is aimed at improving privacy and ensuring that users can have “direct conversations.”

“Our mission is to connect the world with privacy. As our conversations increasingly take place in the digital world, we know how special it is to just sit with someone and talk in private, knowing that at this moment everything is just between you. The freedom that exists in the opportunity to open up, to speak frankly with confidence that this conversation will not be recorded or saved forever is priceless, ”the note explains.

Users who accept the new standard will be notified of the feature activation in a notification that will be at the top of conversations. Both recipients and senders will be notified of the length of the messages.

The temporary message function can also be used on media files such as videos, photos and audio files. The function, however, has already been performed earlier.
