Fourth rare world champion Marquez wins the race and Oliveira falls for the podium - Motorsport
Can you see the champion?

Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) could become the world champion in MotoGP today if he wins in San Marino. After 15 races, the 22-year-old Nice native scored 254 points, 52 points more than Italy’s Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), the only one still able to compete for the successor to Spaniard Juan Mira (Suzuki). But his qualification did not work out, as he will leave 15th place …

Even if he does not win, Quartararo, the winner of five races this year, can still celebrate if he loses two points or less to Pekko Bagnaya when there are only two rounds left to the end of the championship (Algarve and Valencia.), Which equals 50 points (25 for a win).

Cuartararo, who is leading the championship after the fifth race in France, has yet to win a single title in the various categories of the World Speed Racing Championship, unlike Bagnay, who beat Portuguese Miguel Oliveira (KTM) in 2017. in the battle for the Moto2 title.

This is Yamaha’s third season in Premier Class, his first season on a factory team, in which he replaces Italian Valentino Rossi with points in all races and 10 podium finishes.

In addition to five wins, including during his first visit to Portimão, Cuartararo also finished in two runners-up and three-thirds in April.

With 75 points, the Nice rider must leave San Marino at least 50 points ahead of Banayi to give Yamaha its first rider title since the victory of Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo in 2015. There are 14 possible scenarios.

Cuartararo snatches the title with a win, but also with a second place until Bagnaya wins, and even fifth if the Italian does not rise to the podium.

The scepter can still be handed over to Quartararo if he does not score in San Marino until Bagnaya has three points, meaning it is below 13th place.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro Filipe Cunha, Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braga, has been invited to conduct the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, as announced today.

According to a statement sent by O MINHO, “he will be the first Portuguese conductor to conduct this orchestra in its entire history.”

In addition to this orchestra, the maestro will also work with the Lyceo Mozarteum de la Habana Symphony Orchestra.

The concerts will take place on 4 and 12 March 2023 at the National Theater of Cuba in Havana.

In the words of the maestro, quoted in the statement, “these will be very beautiful concerts with difficult but very complex pieces” and therefore he feels “very motivated”.

From the very beginning, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 will be performed by an Italian pianist (Luigi Borzillo), whom the maestro wants to bring to Portugal later this year. In the same concert, Mendelshon’s First Symphony will be performed.

Then, at the second concert, in the company of the Mexican clarinetist Angel Zedillo, he will perform the Louis Sfora Concerto No. 2. In this concert, the maestro also conducts Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.

“This is an international recognition of my work. An invitation that I accept with humility and great responsibility. I was surprised to learn that I would be the first Portuguese member of the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. This is a very great honor,” the maestro said in a statement.

“I take with me the name of the city of Braga and Portugal with all the responsibility that goes with it, and I hope to do a good job there, leaving a good image and putting on great concerts. These will be very special concerts because, in addition to performing pieces that I love, especially Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, I will be directing two wonderful soloists who are also my friends. It will be very beautiful,” concludes Filipe Cunha.
