"People think of Portuguese cinema because it has a very unique identity and high quality."

You grew up in a family of artists. Do you think you were destined to follow the path of acting?

My family is not professionally connected with art. They have other professions, but they effectively keep in touch with the arts. Whether it’s music for my brothers or my mother’s relationship with painting, but that’s what the people in my family are connected to in terms of hobbies. I think that this could somehow facilitate contact in childhood with certain influences and references: being surrounded by canvases, seeing my mother draw, brothers playing … It could create a more favorable situation for me. But when I started to study theater and dance, at the age of eight, it was my will, there was no one at home to do it.

Do you think there is an inner mission in the acting profession?

It depends on what counts as a mission. I think there is something inherent in the profession of an actor and a translator: communication – and I think that you must have some kind of anthropological taste. In other words, you need to love people, you need to love and be interested in the human mind, you need to want to explore and discover your own limitations in order to overcome them. The actor’s mission is connected with communication and the ability to create other realities. Of course, you must be someone who likes this other imaginary creation.

When you were little, you said you wanted to be an actress or dancer. Do you think you have managed to do a little of both?

I started doing theater and dancing at the same time, and then, when I had to choose, I chose the theater. Today I am fortunate to be able to work on some projects such as Monica Kalle’s Ensaio para uma cartografia show, which is a very large body show. I am going to do a show directed by Miguel Sibra of the Teatro Meridional, which will be a show from the Azores with dancers and theater artists, where the dance universe will also be invited. When I am not working, I usually train in parallel with the choreographers and continue to work with the body. Of course, I am not a dancer, I do not have this technical virtuosity, but I am a translator who tries to work in this sense and learn more. I’m waiting for invitations that will allow me to work in a more bodily aspect, that’s what interests me. Sometimes, even in camera work that has nothing to do with movement or dance, I use my body a lot and get a lot from physical work. However, I do not know if I was able to reconcile well, because for me I did a lot more things related to movement. But, for example, Mappa Mundi, a performance installation that I created together, is a performance without text, in many ways related to physical work.

The newspaper highlights the "tight rope" in the relationship between Jorge Jesus and Benfica

Portuguese newspaper A Bola stressed that the relationship between Jorge Jesus and Benfica is not the best, as the coach is not achieving satisfactory results. Last Friday 03, the club lost 3-1 at home in the derby against Sporting.

“It is not only the connection between the club and the coach that will be evident after the events at Estádio da Luz. Even the continuation of Jesus’ life until the end of the season may be jeopardized, given the results, quality or lack of It follows that about the presented football and, above all, about the relationship with the fans who were seriously injured, ”wrote the car.

Also, according to the newspaper, JJ’s position is unstable, not least because the man who bet on him, Luis Filipe Vieira, is no longer at the club. In addition, the coach had to face a serious challenge from the public during the defeat in the derby.

However, if the team succeeds in the challenges ahead in December, then coach continuity through the end of the season can be guaranteed. The match between Benfica and Dynamo Kiev at the Estadio da Luz stadium, which will take place next Wednesday, August 8, will be an excellent indicator of the future of Jesus at the club.

It’s worth mentioning that JJ is one of the most coveted names in Flamengo, who will lead the team in 2022. In 2019, Jesus led the Brazilian team in the conquest of Brasileiran and Libertadores.
