Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX will be launched in 2022

Mercedes’ race for full electrification continues and it looks like the company is heading in the right direction. After EQS launch, now there is another novelty that will have twice the battery of the Tesla Model S.

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that its iconic Vision EQXX will arrive in 2022.

Mercedes Benz, car manufacturer Luxury, based in Stuttgart, has just unveiled its plan to go all-electric by the end of this decade. To begin this transition, the company will unveil the EQXX with a 1,000 km range next year, according to a recent announcement. Elon Musk and Tesla's engineers will certainly have a lot of work ahead of them as competition in electric vehicles approaches.

Mercedes is committed to delivering high performance even as it moves into uncharted space. As countries intend to ban the sale of fossil fuel vehicles in the near future, Mercedes knows the time has come to move to electric vehicles, and the company has made no secret that it also intends to place itself well in the electric vehicle race.

Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX announced

The company plans to begin its ambitious journey with the most efficient futuristic car ever. The record distance on a single charge will not be achieved thanks to the larger battery. Instead, the company claims to have improved aerodynamics and also developed a high-performance powertrain (HPP) that provides a range of approximately 10 km / kWh at normal highway speeds.

The prototype's main claim, made at a strategy conference last year, was that it would be able to travel from Beijing to Shanghai - a distance of 1,200 kilometers - on a single charge.

With the largest charging network of over 530,000 AC and DC chargers, Mercedes is also partnering with Shell to explore its charging network in Europe, China and North America and provide a seamless charging infrastructure with automatic authentication and payment processing for your customers.

Investing over 40 billion euros in this transition by the end of the decade, Mercedes will launch vehicles in three categories: MB.EA will focus on luxury passenger cars, AMG.EA will focus on performance. Vehicles and VAN.EA will supply electric light commercial vehicles and vans, with electric vehicle options in select countries only.

Among the pledges was a commitment to build eight new battery factories around the world, four of which will be in Europe, and that investment in internal combustion engines will be 80% lower by 2026 from levels quoted in 2019.

The first Dacia hybrid. “The cheapest hybrid family on the market”

The first Dacia hybrid. "The cheapest hybrid family on the market"

BUT Dacia revealed this Monday that the hybrid engine has been available since March on the Jogger, the Romanian brand’s model known to be available with a seven-seat variant.

The Jogger Hybrid 140, Dacia’s first hybrid, will hit dealerships in March, but customers can expect and order it as early as January.

The price has been revealed by Dacia and since it’s only available in the seven-seater SL Extreme, it starts at €28,800. The brand claims it is “the most affordable hybrid family car on the market.”

Available in six existing colors to celebrate the launch of this hybrid, there will be a slate gray version, as you can see in the images above.

Equipped with a 1.6 liter four-cylinder petrol engine with 90 hp, the Jogger is also powered by two electric motors (a 50 hp engine and a high-voltage starter-generator). The total power is 140 horsepower. The electric transmission is automatic, four-speed, connected to an internal combustion engine, and two speeds are connected to an electric motor. This combined technology was possible, according to Dacia, only due to the lack of clutch.

Combined with the energy recovery levels of the 1.2kWh (230V) battery pack and the efficiency of the automatic transmission, regenerative braking delivers all-electric traction on 80% of urban journeys and saves up to 40% of fuel compared to a combustion engine vehicle.
