Em causa está uma decisão da Câmara de Recursos do Comité de Controlo Financeiro de Clubes da UEFA, conhecida esta terça-feira, que rejeitou um apelo dos leões, no âmbito das medidas de Fair Play Financeiro do organismo, por valores em dívida.

A UEFA avançará com a sanção se, até ao final do mês, o Sporting não fizer prova de um acordo para pagar valores que deveriam estar liquidados até ao passado dia 15.

A decisão agora revelada confirma textualmente a “exclusão do clube das próximas competições da UEFA (Liga dos Campeões, Liga Europa e Conference League) para as quais possa qualificar-se nas próximas três épocas (2022/23, 2023/24 e 2024/25 ), a menos que possa provar que a 31 de janeiro de 2022 pagou os valores que estavam em dívida a 15 de janeiro, em resultado de um acordo feito a 26 de novembro de 2021 com outro clube de futebol.”
