Blue posters scattered across several cities in the country, a giant billboard at the entrance to Lisbon and a 16 x 6 meter canvas placed on the side bench of the Estádio do Restelo: this is how a group of Belenenses employees decided to sign the diamond wedding. the anniversary of the championship won by the club in 1945/46.
The idea was born in the head of Rui Rodriguez, the club’s partner, in February and was passed by word of mouth until it culminated today with this bluish action, which the organization believes has already reached places like “Alcobaça, Seia, Coimbra Braga , Figueira da Foz, Tavira, Setubal, Almada, Seixal, Alentejo, South Coast, Mafra, Lisbon Center, West Lisbon, Alverca, Aljandra, Casal da Areya, Patayas, Nazare, Golpilleira, Jardoeira Mari Bataglia Grande, Leiria, Turkel, Evora de Alcobasa, etc. “
“When news broke in February that the Intellectual Property Court ruled against Belenenses and in favor of B-SAD [assim se refere à equipa que joga no Jamor], I thought to partners that this is the least important. That it is not the courts who say who this is our club, or who can say that they are Belenenses. Belenenses are free and independent, and this is what we wanted to show the country. I started thinking about it, and today we are a movement of over 200 people, which allowed us to take this initiative and get funding for the action, ”said Lisbon-based A BOLA, a regular at Restelo games, without promoting values. what the group was able to collect.
The initiative touched the president of the club, Patrick Morais de Carvalho. In a post on Facebook, the blues leader praised Belenensis’s spontaneous partner movement:
“On the 75th anniversary of our national title in 1945/46, special attention is paid to the associative movement of Belenense.
The club has a Board and its governing bodies, dedicated people who give a lot to the Institute, but Belenenses’ strength lies in its associative mass.
This rebellious cry of the participants, or if you prefer, this fantastic awareness raising action aimed at a sports country, comes directly from the associative movement.
Today we wake up with posters spread from north to south of the country and on the main arteries of the capital to express our independence and uniqueness, which shows those who doubted that the associative movement was the driving force of our club.
There have already been partners who, at the right time, did not allow the Institute to be taken by storm, and now in a sincere and spontaneous way, without demanding anything in return, have presented the whole of Portugal with a sign of unprecedented vitality. our age-old institution.
I see myself in these actions, and they touched me, and I understand that this movement, without faces and leaders, needs to be cherished, recognized and respected.
They deserve my greetings, and I thank all the members and supporters who, I repeat, without asking for anything in return, give everything to your club from the bottom of their hearts.
How can you be indifferent to such a proof of love?
Belenenses is one and indivisible, over 100 years old and playing for Restelo.
With confidence in victory! “
