Humans fight against one of the deadliest snakes in the world while driving on the highway
The driver, a 27-year-old man identified only as “Jimmy” in a police news release published Tuesday, was heading to Dawson Highway in the state of Queensland at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour (62 mph) when he saw reptiles in a vehicle.

“The more I move my feet … it starts to wrap me up. His head has just started crashing into the (driver’s seat) seat between my legs,” Jimmy said in a news release.

He then used the closest seatbelt and knife to fight it – while trying to stop the car.

Jimmy thought he had been bitten in the next struggle, and was feared for his life. Eastern brown snake bites are fast and fatal, and can cause paralysis and bleeding into the brain.

So Jimmy killed the snake, crashed on the accelerator and headed for the closest hospital. That’s when a police officer saw his car, drove at a speed of 123 kilometers per hour (around 76 mph) and pulled over.

“A brown snake or a tiger snake is behind the ute (truck), I think it bit me, it was in the car with me,” Jimmy sounded when the officer stopped, in a video released. by police on Tuesday. “You can feel my heart, friend.”

Officers see a dead snake lying behind the truck and ask for help. When the paramedics arrived, they made sure Jimmy wasn’t bitten, but suffered shock.

“It was very scary, I was never so happy to see red and blue lights,” Jimmy said in the video.
