The haunted Beverly Hills by Doris Day sells for $ 11 million

In Beverly Hills, a contemporary style house owned for decades by Doris Day – the late singer of the increasingly famous singer in the Golden Age of Hollywood – only sells for $ 11,025 million.

That’s about $ 3.5 million lower than the original price, but still far greater than the $ 6.5 million that was last sold in 2012, records show.

Built in 1922, this property includes two-thirds rare acres in Beverly Hills Flats, a neighborhood whose well-known residents include NBA agent Rich Paul, fashion designer Robert Rodriguez and Netflix executive Ted Sarandos.

Day has haunted places from 1950 to 2006, and the one-story place still exhibits the same style as it was then. Past a closed entrance and formal foyer, the living room has elegant details such as crystal chandeliers, crown molding, and trim.

An open floor plan combines an indoor-outdoor living and dining room, and the chef’s kitchen adds professional equipment and central island. Elsewhere there are four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms in more than 4,300 square feet.

The spacious master suite opens directly into a protected backyard, where a brick patio with a fireplace descends to a flat courtyard and swimming pool. Pool house and sports field complete the land.

The legendary actress and singer, who died last year at the age of 97, began her career as a big band singer before experiencing Hollywood in the late 1940s. Considered the original “girl next door” because of her personality and cheerful smile, Day appeared in 39 films, including “Love Me or Leave Me,” “Lover Come Back” and “Pillow Talk,” where she received an Academy Award nomination.

Jade Mills of Coldwell Banker Realty holds the listing.

“You are the future,” President Marcelo Rebelo de Souza told a three-year-old girl dressed in traditional Portuguese clothing who came out to greet him on the podium where he spoke at Artesia Portuguese Salon. The city, located on the outskirts of Los Angeles, has not hosted the President of the Portuguese Republic since 1989. This weekend, he did it with pomp and the setting of an ornate Portuguese-American community bursting with pride.

“We have never lost the honor and responsibility of being representatives of this beautiful flag,” said Jimmy Enes, a member of Artesia DES, a Portuguese descendant, in a welcoming speech delivered in perfect Portuguese. “When we are asked who we are, we always answer”i am portuguese“and not”Portuguese-American“or ‘Portuguese American’,” he said. “That’s why we’re trying step by step to protect our heritage on the outskirts of Los Angeles, one of the greatest cities in the world.”
