Man says he's lost family to virus. Why he's not wearing a mask.

Changes in demographics have been noted in parts of Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, Texas and other countries – many of which were the first to be reopened.

And while some officials have pointed to wider testing being carried out, others say new cases originating from America fail social distance.

Despite strong warnings from experts across the US, hundreds of people gathered on Saturday in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for President Donald Trump’s first re-election campaign since the start of the pandemic.

Some masks wear even when Tulsa County reports the highest number of new infections on one Saturday – the fifth time this week the state reports a record.

So far, the US has recorded more than 2.2 million cases and at least 119,719 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.

Where young people are tested positive

In Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis Saturday words the case “shifted in a radical direction” towards a population in their 20s and 30s.

The younger groups who tested positive were mostly asymptomatic and did not require clinical attention, the governor said.

“We also see that they not only tested positive because they tested more, they also tested positively at a higher rate over the past week,” DeSantis said, adding there was evidence of transmission among younger groups.

The increase in testing, he said, came because many people returned to the world of work.

Experts have raised concerns about the case of Florida climbing, saying the state could become the next center of the US corona virus. On Saturday, Florida reported 4,049 new cases – the most reported in one day.

In South Carolina, health officials said Friday people under the age of 30 were getting more positive about the virus 18% of the total state cases come from people aged between 21 and 30.

“The improvement we see serves as a warning that young adults and teenagers are not immune to Covid-19,” Dr. Brannon Traxler, Ministry of Health and Environmental Control of the country consultant doctor. “They also told us that the younger South Carolinian people did not take social distance seriously.”
And Georgia’s largest hospital also reported seeing an increase in patients in their 20s and 30s, according to CNN affiliates WSB.

“This is a bit of a disturbing trend, and that scares me not only because they are younger, their potential to infect others, especially parents and grandparents,” said Chief of Medical Staff at the Grady Health System, Dr. Robert Jansen told the news. station.

Less than 7% of social distance in one area of Texas

In Galveston County, Texas, Dr. Philip Keizer with the local health department informed CNN affiliation KPRC they see a lot of infections in young people.

And the age of those who test positive tends to be younger, he told the news station.

“Our average age last week of positive people was 30, the average age of people tested was 47,” he said.

And these figures come because many who have not followed the guidelines issued by health officials are urging residents to keep their distance and wear face coverings.

“We have data from several cell phone companies that show that in Galveston District less than 7% of people shun social,” Keizer said.

Galveston County is home to around 342,139 people, according to US Census Bureau.

Nearly half of the states see an increase in new cases

According to data from Johns Hopkins University, at least 23 states are likely to go up in new cases compared to last week. The ten states report more than 50% of the jumps – including Texas and Florida, which are some of the first states to reopen.

California, the first state to implement closure measures, also experienced an increase in the number of cases.

Meanwhile new cases in New York – once the epicenter of the epidemic – are declining. On Friday, Governor Andrew Cuomo delivered his final coronavirus briefing after what he called “111 hell days.”

When several states report the number of new cases every day and the country’s leaders are considering implementing face mask requirements, the World Health Organization warns that the pandemic is accelerating.

Nearly half of the cases were reported from America, he said.

“The world is in a new and dangerous phase. Many people are understandably bored at home. Countries are very eager to open up their society and economy. But this virus is spreading quickly, is still deadly, and most people are still vulnerable,” he said.

Melissa Alonso and Martin Savidge from CNN contributed to this report.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro Filipe Cunha, Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braga, has been invited to conduct the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, as announced today.

According to a statement sent by O MINHO, “he will be the first Portuguese conductor to conduct this orchestra in its entire history.”

In addition to this orchestra, the maestro will also work with the Lyceo Mozarteum de la Habana Symphony Orchestra.

The concerts will take place on 4 and 12 March 2023 at the National Theater of Cuba in Havana.

In the words of the maestro, quoted in the statement, “these will be very beautiful concerts with difficult but very complex pieces” and therefore he feels “very motivated”.

From the very beginning, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 will be performed by an Italian pianist (Luigi Borzillo), whom the maestro wants to bring to Portugal later this year. In the same concert, Mendelshon’s First Symphony will be performed.

Then, at the second concert, in the company of the Mexican clarinetist Angel Zedillo, he will perform the Louis Sfora Concerto No. 2. In this concert, the maestro also conducts Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.

“This is an international recognition of my work. An invitation that I accept with humility and great responsibility. I was surprised to learn that I would be the first Portuguese member of the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. This is a very great honor,” the maestro said in a statement.

“I take with me the name of the city of Braga and Portugal with all the responsibility that goes with it, and I hope to do a good job there, leaving a good image and putting on great concerts. These will be very special concerts because, in addition to performing pieces that I love, especially Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, I will be directing two wonderful soloists who are also my friends. It will be very beautiful,” concludes Filipe Cunha.
