Anti-mask groups issued 'exception' cards while California pondered the quote

There is no such thing as a face mask exemption card approved by the Justice Department, the federal government said.

The cards included the Department of Justice’s seal, and cited the American Law with Disabilities, but in fact were not approved by the department, the FBI said in a recent statement.

The cards are distributed by an anti-mask group called Freedom to Breathe Agency, Today.com reports Friday.

The agency has issued cards that claim to “free” cardholders from having to wear masks wherever they go, quoting Americans with Disabilities Act.

“I was freed from the regulation that required the use of face masks in public. Wearing a face mask poses a mental and / or physical risk to me. Under the American Law with Disabilities (ADA), I am not required to disclose my condition to you. “Read one card version.

The founder of TFBA, Lenka Koloma, said that the card never stated that the card was issued by the ADA or the Department of Justice and that they had to make people “aware of their rights,” he said.

But the DOJ issued a statement saying many fake cards included department seals.

“The Department urges the public not to rely on the information contained in this post and visit ADA.gov for ADA information issued by the Department.” said the statement.

Responding to the increasing cases of COVID-19, the Los Angeles area has begun to consider issue a quote for “Reckless Endangerment” to people who refuse to wear masks in public.

“I really cannot understand people who politicize wearing masks – literally for some people, choices that will (mean) life and death,” Councilor Paul Koretz said on Friday.

“You are the future,” President Marcelo Rebelo de Souza told a three-year-old girl dressed in traditional Portuguese clothing who came out to greet him on the podium where he spoke at Artesia Portuguese Salon. The city, located on the outskirts of Los Angeles, has not hosted the President of the Portuguese Republic since 1989. This weekend, he did it with pomp and the setting of an ornate Portuguese-American community bursting with pride.

“We have never lost the honor and responsibility of being representatives of this beautiful flag,” said Jimmy Enes, a member of Artesia DES, a Portuguese descendant, in a welcoming speech delivered in perfect Portuguese. “When we are asked who we are, we always answer”i am portuguese“and not”Portuguese-American“or ‘Portuguese American’,” he said. “That’s why we’re trying step by step to protect our heritage on the outskirts of Los Angeles, one of the greatest cities in the world.”
