Like the other competitive Abarths, the Sport Prototype 1000 SP obeyed a rule set by the pioneering Carlo Abarth, who always favored light and agile competition cars that did wonders with small engines and were also a little powerful and cheap. To pay tribute to the historic Abarth 1000 SP, Centro Stile Fiat and Abarth decided to build a modern version of the 1966 1000 SP. The body tries to respect the original as much as possible, although the new model is much larger and cumbersome.
